EG EnerKey, one of the Nordic regions leading sustainability and energy management SaaS providers, and AFS Energy, a leading commodity house concentrated on the renewable energy market, start a cooperation to help their corporate and public sector customers in achieving carbon neutrality by offering voluntary verified emission reduction certificates. In addition to the cooperation in voluntary carbon offsetting, AFS Energy will start a pilot to offer its end customers EG EnerKey´s cloud-native sustainability and energy management platform Powered by EG EnerKey.
After all sustainability and energy efficiency actions, there will always remain a certain part of carbon emissions that need to be compensated if a business or a public sector organization wants to be carbon neutral. Burning fossil fuels generates CO2 emissions, which accounts for the largest amount of greenhouse gases released in the atmosphere. Carbon emissions can be avoided or compensated via sustainable carbon-neutral projects that allow companies and public sector organizations that overproduce CO2, to balance their emissions through the acquisition of voluntary certificates.
