3. Personal information
Personal information entered by the user when creating a user profile, when using the services provided, or recorded in any other way, is handled and stored in compliance with the current legislation at any given time. Such information includes name, address, email address, telephone number, etc. This information is used in connection with enquiries, as well as EG's marketing of new products and services. Personal information will not be passed on to third parties without prior consent, except where this is necessary in order to act on submitted orders or enquiries, and then only in a manner which is reasonable in relation to the purpose.
Personal information is stored and/or processed in accordance with good practices, and EG strives to ensure technologies and software are used which provide the necessary security against data being damaged or released to third parties. All particularly sensitive information such as social security numbers, bank account information, etc. is encrypted during transmission using 128-bit SLL encryption. All transmission is encrypted on sites where the user has logged in using a username and password. There will always be a risk associated with submitting personal information – including via electronic media. EG strives to minimise these risks as much as possible.
5. Storage times
Personal information is stored as long as it is relevant. If created user accounts or other functions to which personal information is linked are not used for an extended period, the information will be automatically deleted. Users may request that EG deletes information about them at any time.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files which can be either temporary or permanent. Cookies are stored on the user's computer after visiting our websites. Cookies are used to store information such as username, and help give the user better service during visits to our website as they only need to enter user information once, and the load time for the site becomes faster.
Permanent cookies will be stored on the user's computer until the user deletes them. Temporary cookies have a pre-set lifetime of 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.

EG A/S collects certain information automatically during visits to our websites, and this information is stored in log archives. The information collected includes IP addresses, time and date, browser type, referral pages and exit pages. Information is logged which can identify individual users to a certain extent, such as IP addresses. The collected information is not used or sold for use for direct marketing purposes (without the prior consent of the user). This information is used purely for administration and maintenance of the website and EG A/S' business.
