EG Employees Donate to New Medical Center in Odesa

This year, employees at EG have donated a total of €32,300 to support the opening of a new Superhumans Center for prosthetics and rehabilitation in Odesa, Ukraine.

Every year, EG employees are given the opportunity to exchange their company Christmas gift for a charitable donation, which EG then matches with an additional monetary contribution.

As in previous years, this year's donation is directed toward humanitarian aid benefiting Ukraine. The contribution from EG employees is specifically allocated to the opening of a new center in Odesa in Q3, enabling Superhumans specialists to provide prosthetics for over 50 additional patients each month.

“We used to have an office in Odesa before the war started, and we still have loyal and dedicated employees in the city. I am happy that our donation this year can contribute, even in a small way, to the recovery of victims of this terrible war and the rebuilding of the city,” says Mikkel Bardram, CEO of EG.

Superhumans: Fighting Trauma

The Superhumans War Trauma Center is a world-class medical facility in Lviv, Ukraine, which opened in April 2023.

The center is a non-profit organization established by Ukrainians to support individuals injured by war who require prosthetics, facial reconstruction surgeries, rehabilitation, and PTSD treatment. Patients include military personnel, civilians, foreigners, and children.

To meet the growing demand for care, the organization aims to build additional centers across Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 60,000 people need prosthetics and facial surgeries due to the war. Furthermore, 40% of Ukraine’s territory is mined, and hundreds of thousands require rehabilitation. The number of injuries continues to rise, increasing by 15% annually as the conflict persists.

The Superhumans Center aspires to serve as a comprehensive facility for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and rehabilitation. The center’s mission also includes fostering a positive societal view and attitude toward people with disabilities.

“At Superhumans, we don’t usually refer to the people we help as “patients” because they are individuals of incredible resilience and strength. In fact, they often become our mentors rather than the other way around. We’d be delighted to share with them how your employees have contributed to this mission.

The engagement of our donors has, in just a year and a half, positioned Superhumans as the largest military trauma center in the country, and your contribution is part of this achievement. Thank you, – commented Andriy Stavnitser, founder of the Center.

At Superhumans, every patient receives personalized care, custom-fitted prosthetics, and a comprehensive rehabilitation process designed to address both physical and mental recovery.
