“You have to think about things and solve problems – that's what makes it interesting.”

In this series, you can meet some of the women who work for EG. Here is Eleonore Bergqvist, software developer at EG in Sweden.

"IT and software are always changing. There is always something new to learn, so it will never be a boring job," says Eleonore Bergqvist, software developer at EG in Sweden.

Job flexibility and daily problem solving for the benefit of customers are particularly valued by Eleonore Bergqvist.

The software developer at EG in Sweden talks to us from the holiday home outside Stockholm she has recently bought with her husband, and which she's now busy decorating – and enjoying.

“I like to create beautiful environments, plant flowers and that kind of thing,” she says.

Ensures efficient administration

But there will also be time for work.

"I'm qualified in full-stack web development from a university college, specialising in PHP and JavaScript. At EG, I work with a system called Gasell that helps Sweden’s electricity companies manage all aspects of their customer contact. It’s about gathering information and making administration as efficient as possible through automation."

IT is always changing

This gives customers’ employees time to work on other things, and end-customers gain value and an insight into their own consumption.

"IT and software are always changing. There’s always something new to learn, so it will never be a boring job. You have to think about things and solve problems – that’s what makes it interesting," says Eleonore Bergqvist.
